Decorative Glass
Decorative glass in its many forms can be attractive and at the same time tell a story in pictures or in words. It is without doubt an art medium adding glamour and elegance to areas of buildings where ordinary glass previously has been used as a basic construction material. Decorative glass gives you freedom to stamp your own design or personal uniqueness on to an application of your choice.
Leading
Period glazing effect can be achieved with applied leading.
The leading is adhered in matching positions on both surfaces of a piece of glass, giving the appearance of a traditional leaded light, but in a form suitable for incorporation into Welguard Glass Sealed Units. Various leading patterns can be achieved, as well as the more standard diamond pattern.
Leading can be treated during the sealed unit manufacturing process so that its appearance is changed from a shining silver colour to a darker "antiqued" colour.
Georgian bar
Period glazing effect can also be achieved with the use of Georgian bars.
Georgian bars can be contained inside the sealed units. This makes the cleaning of the window easier (no small squares!)
Georgian bars can be applied to the outside of the glass for a more traditional look.
Stained glass effects
Self-adhesive coloured film is applied to the glass, prior to the fixing of applied leading giving a representation of a stained glass pane, which is suitable for incorporation into Welguard glass sealed units.
For decorative style and elegance, an almost infinite variety of colours can be applied to clear glass in a traditional or modern context.
